Time to look forward and a time to look back

January – is a time for resolutions and a time to look back

Susan SherbertSo how is the diet coming? Traditionally January is a time to make resolutions, start our goals, and get back on track with those darn diets, again. It is a time to look forward. But to me maybe it is a time to look back, a time to review what is working and what is not. And I don’t imagine we have to look too far back to see that last year’s January diet didn’t make it all the way to the end of the year. What happened? What went wrong?

Well it wouldn’t be my New Year tradition if I didn’t make fun of diets in January. I can repeat this over and over again, yet still no one will listen; diets in January are just plain stupid! It’s winter time. Why not look forward and start your diet in the spring when Mother Nature can help you a bit. Right now you are only going against her wisdom because it’s cold outside. It’s time to eat comfort food, get fat and stay warm. So if you aren’t willing to look back at all the other times your January diets failed, and if you can’t even listen to your own Mother, then is it any surprise as to why your diets don’t work!!

There is simply no point in me wasting any more of my words because you will do what you want, what society says you are supposed to do. You will attempt to get in shape right after the holiday season. If you can’t beat them, you might as well join them as they say. Since we seem to be sticking with tradition let me share several resolutions. One is about my new book. It’s coming along great and I’m more than half way finished. You will see it in early 2016. My golf life lesson blog is still on the list for this year and if you missed the last post click here for something else to read while you burn those calories. And as for looking back in review, yeah, okay I admit I failed my diet last January. But come this summer I’ll be ready because I got back on that treadmill right after the New Year.
