Kids create visions not just pictures

White Hat Awareness Quote: Day 22

“Kids Create Visions – Not Just Pictures”

30 days of life lesson quotes. Since I was in a bit of a childish mood yesterday with my smile post, I decided to keep the whole childish theme going and go back to that all-important vision. While writing “Grown-ups Don’t Skip” I found it truly surprising just how much influence reality has on the decisions we make in life. As I asked grown-ups about their dreams, I began to realize that reality kept getting in the way. As the adult mind starts to form an original thought, too often a little voice in the back of the brain can be heard saying, “that’s a stupid idea” or “that would never work.” The creative flow is stopped. The idea is quickly squashed. The dream is tossed out of our head before imagination in given time to take hold.

Adults unconsciously fit their dreams to their reality and that is totally the opposite of what dream are all about! Adults need to learn to embrace the excitement of the possibility, instead of instinctively reacting to the reality of the grown-up world. Go ahead and live in the real world, just make sure you keep a window open for the dreams to creep in.

Why not fill your mind with positive images that can lead to truly incredible things. Once you allow that little “spark” of imagination to step outside your reality based thoughts the ideas begin to flow. What a great idea! We could do this or add that. I had never thought of it that way before. Our vision goes way beyond what the eyes can see and kids are masters at this. Ask a kid to draw you a picture and you don’t get an image on a piece of paper. You get a whole story full of glorious details and endless possibility.

This Life Lesson Quote is a topic that is the foundation for both “Grown-Ups Don’t Skip Have FUN Be Happy Enjoy Life” and “A White Hat and Rose Colored Glasses
