“Robin What Were You Thinking”
I hardly ever write about things in the news because I’m all about fun and happy. Yet with Robin William’s death I feel I must put in my two cents. There is no dispute about the talented life of this great man, however there is tons of controversy over his death. It is hard to comprehend why anyone, let alone someone with such success, would take their own life. All I can say it that, in my opinion, it had nothing to do with what he was thinking and everything to do with what he was feeling.
There is nothing we can do now to help Robin Williams, yet the thoughts that keep coming to me are ones about what we can do to help others. Whenever there is a tragic death of someone who died way too young, I am always amazed at how much caring and loving support there is at the funeral or memorial service. I think to myself, did this person realize just how many lives he touched? Did he know that he mattered to all these people?
So it occurred to me that now when we are thinking of the tragic death of Robin Williams, why don’t we reach out and connect with someone who matters to us. If you care enough about someone that you would attend their funeral, don’t wait until it’s too late. Send a text, make a phone call, or simply put a hand on a shoulder and tell someone that they matter to you. Tell them that Robin sent you.
